As part of our new Brighton Rocks range we’ve just taken delivery of our latest collection. Inspired by the vibrant colours of one of our favourite seaside locations you’ll find colours like Coral Alert, Petrol Green and Castle Rock Grey. And with a funky print called ‘Pier Pressure’ we’re sure you’ll love some of the kit that’s arrived instore. It’s not available online just yet but you can already pick up your favourite pieces from our Northcote, Putney High Street and Putney Embankment stores.

Summer isn’t over yet so, while the sun keeps shining, we’ve introduced a handful of new products to top up your summer fitness wardrobe. Our top seller for women this month is The Essence Vest – a beautifully soft running vest made with a lightly spun technical jersey. The flattering racer back incorporates some subtle reflective detailing in the cross seam making this a very functional yet attractive piece of kit. Perfect for everything from running to yoga. For the serious runner, we’ve developed The Ultra Short. Minimal distraction, comfort and practicality are what you need when you're putting in the mileage so we've designed in a 3" inseam, used lightweight stretch fabric with a mesh liner and made sure you've got pockets to store your fuel and valuables. And guys, we haven’t forgotten you! The Drizzle Tee is a really light and airy top, designed for training in the variable British climate so it will breathe and wick and, if the drizzle starts to fall, the water repellent fabric will protect your core from the elements. We've included a large mesh back panel to keep the air flowing and a stylish reflective strip so keep you visible at dawn and dusk. When it comes to shorts, we think you’ll be dazzled by the new Zodiac Short and the laser cut reflective detailing. We’ve incorporated a 9.5” inseam for a relaxed fit and used four-way stretch fabric and insert shorts with flatlock stitching for complete comfort. As the amazing scenes in Rio draw to a close this weekend we, like you, are incredibly proud to see our home grown athletes achieving so much with personal bests, world records and a breath taking medal haul. Over the years we’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of our top athletes and, more recently, we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know one athlete in particular who has been a great friend and ambassador to Crewroom. Therefore, we want to say a massive congratulations to Jess Eddie and her crew mates who won silver in the final of the women’s eight last weekend. We can’t think of anyone more deserving and we are absolutely chuffed to bits that Jess has achieved her ultimate goal. Jess started rowing as an eight-year-old schoolgirl on the River Wear in her native County Durham and was inspired to follow in the footsteps of her grandfather who was a rower in the late 19th century. Earlier this year Jess told us about her hopes in the run up to Rio: “Rowing gives us a unique opportunity to throw together nine different people to form one boat, one powerhouse, all moving in perfect synchronization and rhythm. I will soak up each and every day I get to row in this crew and look forward to what we can accomplish this summer.” Well Jess, you only went and did it! We can’t wait to see you when you when you get back and feel free to bring in the shiny silver medal you have in your collection now – we’ll be sure to put the kettle on and get the biscuits in!

This month we see Crewroom friend and ambassador, Meghan Mutrie, take to the beautiful Canadian Rockies where she’s put her new bag of Crewroom kit to the ultimate test. Meghan is a massive fan of the outdoors and all the adventures it beholds so, when she’s not climbing mountains, you’ll find probably find her out on her paddleboard taking in beautiful scenery on some of Canada’s biggest lakes. Originally a rugby player for Canada, Meghan turned to yoga after she hung up her rugby boots and now, as a qualified yoga teacher, it’s not difficult to see how she calmly conquers the crooks and crannies of the stunning Rocky Mountains. On her most recent adventure you can see Meghan testing out the Essence Vest, Ultra Short, SE Fleece and Lunges Crops – all of which worked perfectly with the extreme reaching and traversing needed to ascend the rock face.

It’s one of Crewroom’s most popular events of the year, it’s only at our Putney Embankment store, and it’s your big chance to snap up some amazing bargains with discounts of up to 80 per cent. So put a note in your diary for Friday and Saturday, 2nd and 3rd September, when our doors open at 9am for our huge Sample Sale. Kit will be flying off the shelves on a strictly first-come-first-served basis, and doors close at 5pm. With the start of the new sports season, and back to school and universities for students, this is the perfect opportunity to fill your boots with new kit. With everything from jackets to base layers and leggings to shorts, you’ll certainly find something useful for your kit bag.
