Anna's social adventure
Last month we reported that friend and Crewroom Ambassador, Anna McNuff, was heading out of her back gate on her latest adventure which would be completely directed by her social media followers via a vote system.
Well, we’re pleased to report that her adventure has, as expected, been an adventure!
Starting out on 16th February, her social media followers voted that her first destination was Harwich sea port. Using leg power only (both walking and cycling) Anna picked up a few blisters and made her way to the coast before voters sent her on a ferry to Utrecht in Holland. There she followed the winding canals and indulged in some local Dutch pancakes along the way.
Then on to the forests of Apeldoorn to enjoy the beautiful scenery before the vote sent Anna and her wheels to follow the Rhine all the way to Mannheim in Germany and onto the Black Forest.
The small issue of heavy snow and blizzard conditions altered Anna’s route a tad so she headed towards Lake Constance in Switzerland. After exploring the scenic lakes she is now headed to Geneva in the last leg of her month long adventure which ends on 13th March.
Along the way Anna has managed to throw in a couple of inspirational talks at local schools and has inspired all of us yet again.
So, on what has just been International Women’s Day where we celebrate the truly inspirational women in our lives, we take our hats off to you Miss McNuff!
Spring into action
The lighter mornings and longer days have suddenly sparked our endorphins with many of us looking to top up our fitness levels as we enter Spring. Whether you’re training for a specific event or you simply need motivation to leave the sofa, there are plenty of fun activities to get you moving. So, once again, our fitness duo and store managers – Emily and Tiina – have been checking what’s out there…
SUP with Active 360
Our friends at Active 360 are busy polishing up their boards ready for the new season of stand up paddleboarding. SUP is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and is popular with people of all ages. It’s a great way to get fit and improve core strength whilst enjoying beautiful surroundings and the tranquillity of being on water.
We tried: SUP along the Thames with Paul from Active 360
Cost: varies (see website) Workout: Balance, coordination, core strength
What you need: Layers of moveable sportswear which keep you warm
We suggest: The Waders, VX Solid Bodyshell, The Drifter fleece and Paddle Gloves.
SWIFT Fitness Wireless Boot Camp
A brilliant way to exercise with pumping tracks to get you motivated. Your personal disco along with the instructor's commands feed through your headphones resulting in an upbeat, full body workout. We were pushed to the max from the partner circuits combined with sprints. If you're lacking motivation this will be perfect for you!
We tried: Thursday Wireless Boot Camp at Clapham
Common Cost: from £36 a month unlimited sessions but the first trial session is FREE
Workout: Fitness and full body workout
What you need: Kit you don't mind getting muddy
We suggest: Field leggings and Core Top for women. The Segment Short and Scope Longsleeve for men.

We're simply nuts about Chester!
Last year we became official sponsor to the most exclusive VIP running squad taking part in the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, Team Squirrel. And this year we’re proud to report that, once again, we’ll be joining forces with Chester and his loyal followers.
“We’re delighted to team up with Team Squirrel again this year. We love the Royal Parks Half Marathon and we’re proud to have worked with the Royal Parks Foundation for many years now so it’s an absolute pleasure to sponsor the team,” said Kate Giles, Crewroom Founder.
In addition to supplying all the race vests Crewroom will be providing Team Squirrel with a training plan and training sessions along with various Q&A sessions in the run up to the race so make sure you watch this space!

Spring is just around the corner
The days are getting longer and there is definitely a spring in our step here at Crewroom with the arrival of our new season collection.
Our SS16 range is inspired by crossing lines and pushing boundaries which are translated into bold and impactful designs. In a year which will see some of our nation’s finest athletes pushed to the limits to cross the line first at Rio, we’ve included some detailed prints with splashes of ‘carnival’ colours and products with segment colour blocking.
Here’s a taster of what’s new this season…
The Ribbing Vest, £32
This is a fitted vest with a flattering low neckline and racerback style. We've dropped the hemline for a bit of extra coverage, perfect if you're doing a HIIT workout. As always we've used a soft, wicking fabric for comfort in any activity.
The Ribbing Short, £42
We've taken the tried and tested stretch jersey used in our leggings to create shorts which look and feel amazing. The fully opaque, non-pilling fabric is supportive without restriction and the ribbed wide waistband is a practical and flattering addition. You'll also find a rear mesh pocket to keep your valuables safe and your energy snacks to hand.
The Cross-Over Tee, £36
A paneled running top made with our non-pilling fabric which means you can wash it time after time without losing the soft, supple feel of the fabric against your skin. The fabric will wick away the sweat and dry quickly leaving you to feel comfortable when you're putting in the miles. The reflective branding is a nice and functional touch.
The Balance Short, £49
An all-rounder of a short with 7" inseam, you'll love these if you're tackling a trail or paddleboarding along the Thames. We've made these shorts with four-way stretch fabric so you can move with ease. The boardie style waistband uses adjustable drawcords for the perfect fit and we've designed in practical deep pockets and stylish laser cut detailing.
